Hyundai Vehicle Map Data Update Based on New Administrative Boundaries

Dear Valued Customers,

To ensure that the map data on AVN devices accurately reflects the latest changes in Vietnam’s administrative boundaries, we would like to inform you of the following:

Important Information Regarding Administrative Boundary Changes

On June 12, 2025, the National Assembly of Vietnam officially approved the Resolution on the 2025 provincial-level administrative reorganization. Accordingly:

  • After the restructuring, Vietnam will have a total of 34 provincial-level administrative units, consisting of 28 provinces and 6 centrally governed cities.
  • Many provinces and cities will be merged or renamed according to the new administrative boundaries.

AVN Map Data Update

To ensure that your AVN device continues to provide accurate and reliable information, we will update the map data to reflect these changes.

This update will help you:

  • Display the correct names of new localities.
  • Ensure accurate navigation to areas affected by the merger.
  • Reduce confusion when searching for updated addresses.

Update Schedule

The new map update is expected to be released in Q3 and Q4 of 2025.
You will receive an automatic notification via the Hyundai me app and our official website: https://tcms.vn once the update becomes available.

Important Note During the Transition Period

From July 1, 2025, the newly formed administrative units (including provinces/cities with changes in boundaries or names) will become officially operational.

However, as the AVN map operates offline, during the interim period, addresses will still appear under the old names. As a result, customers searching using new administrative names may encounter the following:

  • Unable to find the address under the new province/city name.
  • Navigation results may still display old names.

Temporary Usage Instructions

To ensure proper usage before the update is released, please:

  • Continue using the old locality names for search and navigation.
  • Update your map data as soon as the official notification is available.
